Today I had my first official mishap, while visiting a friends farm house in the outskirts of Suli. Just a note about toilets in this country...they have a tendency not to exist. A large majority of them are "squattey potties" or rather, porcelain surrounding a hole in the floor. My technique has improved greatly in just the past seven days, but the situation to be described involved an actually toilet.
Now, this was a very nice house, located in some orchards, about fifteen minutes from our house. I had just finished, and had pressed the button to flush and had begun walking away to wash my hands when $%&$)CRASH$($*%)!! I turned around to see the very top had fallen off and smashed into bit on the linoleum floor. When I reached down to gather some up I cut my finger, and had to walk sheepishly out to get some help with my finger in my mouth. Now...generally referring to the bathroom in any sort is a very hush-hush affair, but thankfully at this point, our hosts were somewhat westernized. They said it was "no-problem" and merely laughed at my red face. I did reassure then I would not break anything else when I needed to find another bathroom later in the day...
